The Great Western Hotel

The Great Western Hotel, Rockhampton is one of Australia’s iconic pubs. Established in 1862, it has become a national and international tourist destination, attracting more than 100,000 visitors each year. The bush-themed hotel pays tribute to the Australian bush culture and is the only hotel in Australia, and one of only two in the world, to boast its own indoor rodeo and music arena, with seating capacity for 3,500 spectators. Each year the Great Western Hotel plays host to more than 125 rodeos and bull rides and to concerts with renowned Australian and international music artists such as Dwight Yoakham, Jimmy Barnes, John Butler and Keith Urban.
