The Cape York Peninsula is the large peninsula which makes up the northern most region of Queensland, all the way to the tip.
The Cape has a fascinating history of exploration, pioneers, settlement, World War II and the thriving indigenous culture. There are many regional and cultural centres that showcase some amazing aboriginal art and craft, and host a number of indigenous festivals.
The region is also famous for some of the best sport fishing in Australia, like the fresh water barramundi and the deep sea black marlin.
