MICAT Ferries Moreton Island

Moreton Island Adventures' MICAT is the only vehicular ferry service from Brisbane to Moreton Island. The MICAT is a luxurious 3 levelled, purpose-built vessel. MICAT can carry up to 52 4WD vehicles and over 400 passengers across Moreton Bay. We run all year round with just the exception of Tuesdays in off-peak periods and Christmas Day!  Moreton Island is Australia’s premier natural island destination. Devoid of overcrowded development, it is listed on the Australian Heritage Register and is much the same today as it was when discovered by Captain James Cook in 1770. With over 98% of the island designated as a National Park, visitors are given the chance to enjoy an unspoilt island environment. Located just 35 kilometres across the bay from Brisbane, the island is a magnificent sand mass measuring a little under 20 square kilometres in area. The island features white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, refreshing freshwater lakes and lagoons, the Desert region where the one of the world’s highest sand dunes is located, fragile wetlands, breeding grounds for the humpback whales, green turtles and dugongs and masses of amazing birdlife. Moreton Island represents freedom and escape from the constraints of modern urban living, density and stress.
