Snowy Range Horse Riding Tours will take you on a real Australia alpine mountain horse back riding holiday of a lifetime. Our alpine horse riding trails cover more of the high country than any other. Our tours have been running for over 28 years and are operated by Kevin Higgins, his family and staff. Kevin's family has lived and worked in the mountains for generations and form part of the history of the high country. Kevin has been driving cattle through this country for over 45 years and has the knowledge and ability to provide the best High Country rides in Australia. During the months of November through April most rides begin at Higgins Hut on the Bennison Plains, which, at almost 5000 feet above sea level, is set in the true High Country of Australia. The hut is an original mountain Cattleman's hut belonging to the Higgins family and is still used today by mountain cattlemen when droving and mustering. The hut incorporates a bunkhouse which has comfortable beds and a wood heater to ensure warm nights rest. The hut also has hot showers and septic toilet facilities.
